Problem & solution

Where it goes wrong, and how we fix it.

The problem

Payroll takes time. Errors take even longer to fix.

Every month your HR and finance teams collate attendance, leave, incentives, deductions, new joiners, exits, salary revisions and reimbursements. Without an organised process, payroll quickly takes over the month.

  • Manual calculations

Spreadsheets and hand-built formulas invite salary errors.

  • Late or mismatched inputs

Attendance and leave data that arrives late, or doesn't match, delays the run.

  • Incorrect deductions

Wrong deductions mean corrections, arrears and frustrated employees.

  • Complicated salary structures

Allowances, variable pay and reimbursements make every run harder to check.

  • Joiners, exits and revisions

Mid-month changes and full and final settlements are easy to get wrong.

  • Repeated employee queries

The same payslip questions every month, plus last-minute changes before salaries go out.

How Value First solves it

Monthly payroll processing, made easier to manage.

We work with your payroll inputs and processes to create a structured monthly payroll cycle, so your team spends less time on spreadsheets, calculations and repeated payroll issues.

  • Inputs collected and checked

Attendance, leave, incentives and changes gathered and verified before processing.

  • Salaries calculated correctly

Earnings, deductions, reimbursements and net pay processed and validated.

  • Joiners, exits and revisions handled

New hires, salary changes and full and final settlements built into the cycle.

  • Reports ready to review

Payslips and payroll reports prepared for your HR and finance teams to approve.

Who it’s for

Is this for you?

Your first payroll sets the pattern. We set up a clean, repeatable process from the first month.

Hand payroll to a team that does it every day, and free up your HR and finance staff.

As headcount grows, payroll goes beyond calculating salaries. We keep order as joiners, revisions and exits multiply.

We process payroll for employees across locations, applying the deductions each location requires.

Shifts, overtime and different employee categories, processed correctly every month.

Variable pay, reimbursements and frequent salary revisions handled without delay.

Varied schedules, high turnover and many full and final settlements.

Different roles and pay structures in one accurate payroll.

Laws we cover

9 laws, one team.

In force since 21 November 2025. Governs the definition of wages, payment dates, permitted deductions and minimum wages. Replaces the Payment of Wages, Minimum Wages, Bonus and Equal Remuneration Acts.

TDS on salaries: estimating each employee's tax, deducting it monthly, depositing it and filing quarterly TDS statements.

Provident fund, pension and EDLI contributions for eligible employees, with monthly ECR filing.

Medical and cash benefits for eligible employees, funded by monthly employer and employee contributions.

State tax deducted from salaries and paid with returns; registration and slabs vary by state.

Employer and employee contributions to the state welfare fund, at the frequency the state sets.

Gratuity on exit after qualifying service, and the employer's liability for it. Now part of the Code on Social Security.

Paid maternity leave, nursing breaks and crèche facilities. Now part of the Code on Social Security.

Working hours, overtime, leave and holidays that feed into each month's payroll.

Applicability depends on your state, headcount and type of operation. We confirm exactly what applies to you.
